The method of forming iron and aluminum/aluminum alloy products exclusively using pressure. There are many methods of forging including but not limited to drop forging, press forging, hot forging. Forged high performance and racing brake calipers are usually press forged under high pressure using a die or machined from a solid piece of high quality forged billet. Depending on the characteristics and design of the caliper, either manufacturing method can be used. Forgings are always stronger and stiffer than pure cast or pressure complimented castings.
